Makito 2.0 Upgrade procedure

Haivision Makito 2.0 Upgrade

 

Please note

  • There is no downgrade path from the 2.0 encoder firmware.
  • The upgrade procedure may take up to 2 hours

 

Pre requisites:

  • Makito Encoder running firmware version 1.5.3/1.5.4
  • The Following files supplied by Techex:
  1. haios_enc_pre_2.0.hai
  2. haios_enc_2.0.0.img

 

Ensure to stop all streams on the encoder and save your configuration settings as default before commencing the upgrade

 

Once the upgrade procedure has started, please do not:

  • Interrupt power to the encoder or system supplying the firmware
  • Interrupt network connectivity to the encoder or system supplying the firmware
  • Attempt to access the Web or Console interfaces during the upgrade procedure.
  • Refresh the browser (the browser will automatically refresh upon completion of a stage)

 

Failure to adhere to the above may cause the upgrade procedure to fail, potentially rendering the encoder unusable.

 

 

 

Phase 1 – Upgrade the unit using haios_enc_pre_2.0.hai


From the Makito Web interface

  • Administration
  • Upgrade
  • Browse
  • Select haios_enc_pre_2.0.hai
  • Open
  • Upload

 

 

 

Once the files have uploaded, the page will refresh , click “continue upgrade”

 

 

When phase 1 is complete, the page will refresh again, click “reboot” – This process will take between 4 & 5 minutes.

 

When the reboot is complete you will be presented with the log in page. To confirm the successful completion of phase 1 phase 1:

 

  • Administration
  • Status

 

 

 

If firmware version = 1.5.3 Pre_2.0,  phase 1 has been successful. If this is not the case, please attempt phase 1 again.

 

 

Phase 2

 

From the Makito Web interface

  • Administration
  • Upgrade
  • Browse
  • Select haios_enc_2.0.0.img
  • Open
  • Upload (this may take up to 15 minutes)

 

 

Once this is completed, the page will refresh, click reboot to continue as in phase 1.

This may take up to 1 hour – The page will refresh automatically when complete.

When the reboot is complete you will be presented with the log in page. To confirm the successful completion of phase 2:

 

  • Administration
  • Status

 

 

 

If firmware version = 2.0.0, phase 2 has been successful and the upgrade is complete
