Torpedo DVB-S gateway - Automatic scan orbital positions
Posted by on 25 July 2012 09:19 AM

As satellite positions and frequencies are subject to change at any time, the included satellite scan data on the Haivision Torpedo DVB-S gateway may not be up-to-date.

If the frequency you require is not found on an automatic scan you can manually configure the Frequency, Symbol Rate, Polarisation and Standard:

  • Unselect the 'Automatic' check box located on the 'Scan setup' page of the 'System menu'
  • Completing the form with the required tuning parameters for your required service
  • Selecting the 'Save and Start scan' button

If you only know the satellite location and the required channel name you can find these parameters by using various free online listing services (for example, KingOfSat/LyngSat).

For assistance with finding the correct parameters please raise a support ticket or contact us.

Currently it is not possible to manually update the Orbital Position files on the Torpedo; this is expected to change in a future firmware release.
